Plot |
'Sum of All Fears' is a Jack Ryan movie, loosely based on the novel of the same title by Tom Clancy. In his early years in the CIA, Jack Ryan (Ben Affleck) is a low level intelligence officer involved in counter terrorism efforts. A group of neo-fascists manages to get their hands on an old unexploded nuclear missile, which they plan to convert in to a new bomb and orchestrate an attack on the Super Bowl, and their plan is to make it look like it was done by the Russians. William Cabot (Morgan Freeman), Jack Ryan's boss, eventually sends Ryan in to action to try and thwart the plans of this group. Ryan knows that the Russians are not to blame for the plans or the ensuing attack, but both time and apparent evidence are against him. He must act quickly to stop the president (played by James Cromwell) from declaring all out nuclear war with Russia. |
